Terms of Service

By installing or using the CompareClip Chrome extension or visiting compareclip.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

CompareClip is a free browser extension that reads publicly visible product information (name, price, image, rating) from retailer pages when you explicitly click the extension icon, stores that data locally on your device, and optionally creates a shareable comparison page hosted at compareclip.com/c/[id].

You agree not to:

• Use the extension or API for automated scraping, bulk data collection, or any purpose beyond personal product comparison.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute the extension outside of the Chrome Web Store.
• Use the service to collect, store, or share information about other individuals without their consent.
• Circumvent or abuse the rate-limiting systems (10 clips per IP per hour).
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any retailer's terms of service.

Comparison pages created via the extension are stored on our servers for 30 days and then automatically deleted. We do not guarantee permanent availability of any comparison link. You are responsible for the content of comparisons you share. We reserve the right to remove any comparison page that violates these terms.

Product names, images, prices, and other data displayed in comparisons are sourced from third-party retailer pages. CompareClip does not claim ownership of this content. We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of product data; always verify with the retailer before purchasing.

CompareClip is provided as-is and free of charge. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or continuity of the service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT PRODUCT DATA IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR UP TO DATE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMPARECLIP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
